The 2013 Vértice Millésime Espumante Bruto was disgorged in March 2019 (the disgorgement date is noted on the bottle). It is a roughly equal blend of Gouveio and Chardonnay, a big change in the blend. It was aged on the lees for some 58 months. It comes in crisp and dry, with six grams of sugar, 7.42 of total acidity, plus 12% alcohol. When last seen (this is the same disgorgement as the 2013 reviewed in 2020), this was lovely, but it is more interesting today with a little bottle aging. Nervy, while seeming fuller in body than statistics would suggest, this might or might not be the best of the winery's offerings this issue, but it is certainly the best intersection of value and quality. It is showing great today. As with all of the winery's offerings (except the more modest pink sparkler), it is worth repeating that these have a certain style to them that often results in a bit of oxidation and complexity. If that's not your style, you won't be as interested. For others, this is a great bargain. It should hold throughout the decade, or more, depending on how you feel about aged sparklers.
