Product Description:

"100% Chardonnay. The wine was barrel fermented for a period of 12 months. It shows some aromas of white flower, fresh almond, hazelnut, mint, fresh butter, brioche and toast. On the palate the wine is round and rich in structure with a beautiful balance of fruit, terroir, and outstanding minerality. The finish is long and harmonious. A clear cut stunner." -Importer

WINERY:
"The Lamy family through the generations has been growing vines in Burgundy since 1640, whilst the Pillot family can be traced back to the commune of Chassagne Montrachet in 1595. A marriage between the two families united the two domains in 1973."

"They own 20 hectares of vineyards, situated in some of the best parts of Le Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru and village lieux dits, Beaune, Blagny, Santenay and St Aubin, which are planted with 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Aligote is producing some of the best wines in this region." -Importer

WINE:
"A substantial parcel of 1.7ha in the 'lieu-dit' of Pot Bois, where the vines vary in age from between 5 years and 40 years. The vines face east and south-east on very well drained soil. Because of this very favorable position, Pot Bois produces elegant, well balanced wines which take two to three years to begin to develop their secondary flavors. This wine, figuratively speaking, has its roots in 'Caillerets' and its branches in 'Grand Montagne'! It is made with 50% new oak barrels and will continue to mature for up to 15 years. The site gets cooler in the winter than the surrounding vineyards, but is warmer and holds heat longer in the summer. In 2007, this worked very much to Pot Bois's advantage." -Importer
