"A generous blend of deep fruit and velvet. Medium to full body and lovely soft and velvety tannins. A blend of carmenere and syrah. Drink now."

"(raised for 20 months in French oak barrels, 40 percent of them new) Inky ruby. Ripe dark berry and cherry scents are complemented by suggestions of olive, vanilla and woodsmoke. Palate-caressing blackberry and bitter cherry flavors develop peppery spice and mocha qualities as the wine opens up. Rich but lively as well, showing no excess fat and a juicy, seamless, dark-fruit-driven finish that's framed by supple, harmonious tannins. This suave wine will drink well on the young side, but I suspect that it will age gracefully as well."

"You feel the fresher year that accentuated the spice and herbal aromas of the 2013 Vertice Apalta Vineyard, which also has more floral aromas than the 2012. It's more vertical, with present acidity. Not a lot changes in this wine regarding the blend, plots used, vinification and élevage. 27,000 bottles produced."
