Château d'Issan has commissioned this special case collection of wines that they feel have entered the first stage of their drinking windows. How often do you get to drink classic Margaux Bordeaux that has been aged to perfection at the Château? The Special Release six-pack includes the 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019 vintages.
Issan is among the oldest properties in Bordeaux. One of its many claims to fame is that its wine was served at the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine to Henri Plantagenet (later Henry II of England). The name of the property is derived from a archaic spelling of its owners in the 17th to 19th centuries: the d’Essenault family. M d’Essenault was a member of parliament and he renovated the vineyards and built the château we see today. Issan was bought by the Cruse family in 1945 in a somewhat dilapidated state. The Cruse family replanted and updated facilities and thoroughly modernised Issan. A 50% stake in Issan was sold to M Lorenzetti - owner of Lilian Ladouys and Pedesclaux - in 2012.- CHATEAU
