"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is the most elegant of the three vintages I tasted, if that word can be used for a brooding Howell Mountain Cabernet! The Saint Macaire is bumped up in the 2018, which seems to give the wine greater aromatic presence. Dried flowers, licorice, mint, incense and leather open with a bit of coaxing. The 2018 is painfully young, with little of the charm so many wines of the year have, but it opens nicely over time. I would not be in a rush here."
