Deeply colored, smooth, rich, with plum, blackberry, lush style, with hints of vanilla.

This is a sanguine and effusively perfumed red wine, soft and rounded in texture, with underlying grip. Richness prevails in the form of dark cherry, cassis and dark chocolate, with ancillary notes of dried herb, cedar and sweet tobacco. This is an impressive wine from the appellation: full-bodied and well integrated.

Aromas of ripe berries, vanilla, licorice and pine needles. Some blue flowers and chocolate, too. Full-bodied, rich and intense palate with plush tannins and succulent berries and spiced oak. Long, firm finish. Try after 2024.

The 2018 Coeur De Vigne is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon yet includes 20% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged 19 months in 60% new French oak, it’s a medium-bodied, round, supple, impressively balanced, and elegant red that has lots of darker berry and black cherry fruits, notes of spring flowers and sappy herbs, some background oak, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s as good as the 2016 and an impressive wine. It should keep for 10-15 years.

Sullivan's 2018 Red Blend Coeur de Vigne features delicate pine or rosemary shadings overlaid on a core of cherries and redcurrants. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, it's full-bodied but slightly coarse in texture, turning cedary on the finish. Drink it over the next decade.
Coeur de Vigne, Rutherford, Napa.
Intense, deep rich flavors, with dark fruit, oak, spice, with acrushed rock quality.
