"I like the black olive and bark with currant undertones. Full body, fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish that's also silky and crisp. Drink or hold."
Paul Hobbs fell in love with Argentina on his first visit in 1988. The potential he saw in the terroir and especially in the human element, spurred his consulting career. Paul Hobbs Selections was founded in 1994 to bring to the US some of the wines he had a hand in creating. In 1998, Paul founded Viña Cobos to explore the true character of malbec and the expressions of different Mendoza growing areas through Cobos, Bramare and Felino. In 2009, the portfolio expanded to include like-minded producers. Our search for quality-obsessed, estate-driven and family-owned wineries that would complement Viña Cobos has led us to work with a select group of wineries from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Canada and France who work closely with Paul to represent a diverse selection of high-quality, terroir-representative wines in the US market.
