"A real profound effort is her blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot – the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sugarloaf Mountain. This is a stunner. Aged in equal parts Darnajou and Taransaud cooperage, a fabulous nose of violets, graphite, blackberry and cassis is followed by a full-bodied, voluptuously textured and opulent wine with layers of black fruits, well-integrated acidity and tannin and a long finish of 45+ seconds. This is a stunner to drink now and over the next 20+ years.
Kimberly Hatcher, the winemaking assistant of Russell Bevan has her own label, and my experience with the wines only dates back a few vintages. They are exceptionally impressive wines and her 2014s are possibly the finest she has made to date."
