"The vineyard is located at 1600 feet in the Vaca Range in the Atlas Peak AVA. At the highest elevations in this esteemed AVA on the eastern slopes of Napa valley, the extremely rocky site benefits from cool evenings and mornings and warm afternoons. "Classic" and "perfect" are just two accolades being bestowed upon the 2012 Napa Valley growing season and harvest. Textbook conditions saw near-ideal spring bud break, steady flowering, even fruit set, and a lengthy stretch of warm days and cool and often foggy nights during the long summer months. Late and light rains held off until Napa Valley's treasured wine grapes found optimal ripeness, bringing exceptional quality to the crush pad and into the cellar. Bright boysenberry and blueberry jam with vanilla, sage and tobacco notes. Round juicy black fruit on the palate, smooth tannins and a full body finish with lingering notes of cedar and caramel." -Winery
