Barrel sample. This wine is heavily influenced by ample new-wood aging. It's deliciously juicy with black currant and plum fruits balanced by swathes of refreshing acidity at the end

Product Description:

Château Talbot is a red wine produced in the Saint-Julien appellation. This 4ème Cru Classé en 1855 benefits from a vineyard of 102 hectares, aged 60 years on average and planted on Médoc gravel. The wine is aged in barrels (50% in new barrels). The 2012 vintage blends 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. With its dense and deep ruby color, the Château Talbot 2012 develops a nose of great richness, with a clever marriage of fruity and floral aromas (black and violet fruits). Extensive on the palate with a smooth attack, the wine reveals richness and great complexity, before a finish with beautiful length, in harmony with silky tannins. Talbot's vines grow in an ideal location bordering an estuary, on some of the region's most highly prized gravel rises which alone produce great wine. Talbot is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc, and its reputation has been in the hands of experienced managers, and always shown itself to be worthy of its inclusion in the 1855 classification. Owners of Talbot since the early 20th century, the Cordier family have perpetuation the commitment to quality of their predecessors. At Talbot, wine is very much past, present, and future. Therefore, tradition and technical innovations both count a great deal.
