"This wine shows impressive results and does not reveal its warm climate DNA. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Schietto could be mistaken for a wine from northern Italy or an otherwise cooler climate. It shows crisp lines and great focus with dark fruit tones that are followed by rosemary, cola and crushed mineral. This is a profound and complex wine that shows the potential of Cabernet Sauvignon in Sicily."

"'Schietto' is a line of single-varietal wines. The word means ‘sincere, straightforward’ and Francesco Spadafora aims at bringing through the best possible representation of each varietal.

The 'Schietto' Cabernet Sauvignon is made with 100% organic grapes. The first vintage ever produced was 1997 after the Francesco Spadafora had spent a period in France during harvest and winemaking with a personal friend and winemaker in Bordeaux. Sharing ideas, impressions and tecniques was important for developing his own practice on the grape.

Purple red in color, Schietto Cabernet has a clear, intense bouquet of black fruit, leather and tobacco. Full-bodied with well-structured yet soft tannins present on the palate and into the finish. Pair with roasted meats and aged cheeses." - Importer
