"Again, the Ranch consistently offers tones of wet rock and conifer forest floor, but otherwise quite different than French Wedding. Aromas of crème brulee, chocolate-mocha and cinnamon are mixed in with kerosene and black pepper. The gentle tannins are upfront and not shy to say the least. The mouth-coating tannins are remnants of a meaty, chewy and oily-thick finish that lingers in the mid-palate.
Located just below the Clone 7 block (of Bear Crossing), this is the steepest section of our Cabernet vineyards, made up entirely of Clone 4. It is a massive Cabernet with saturated tannins that requires less patience than Bear Crossing. In the summer of 2005, during ground preparation for planting, the heavy equipment unearthed a boulder measuring 13 x 11 x 10 feet and weighing approximately 50 tons. However, it did not like getting shoved around and instead barreled down this steep slope where it is now in its final resting place. " -Winery
