"Brachetto is a delightfully sparkling, pleasantly surprising red wine from the region of Acqui in Southern Piedmont. Brachetto has wonderful aromas of black raspberry and black cherry and notes of flowers such as violets. The wine is medium-bodied, with a trace of sweetness, lightly sparkling (what the Italians call frizzante) and a very low alcohol content. The moderate degree of alcohol along with the fresh, fruity, floral aromas deliver a wine that is perfect with fresh fruit (especially strawberries) or chocolate desserts or simply as an after-dinner treat.
