The 2015 Alfrocheiro Miguel Maria Laureano was aged for 18 months in 70% new light-toast French oak. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol. This might be the most typical of the Alfrocheiros in this lineup. It has elegance and silky texture, with red fruits underneath. It has plenty of power too, showing the intensity that most of the others do. This is very tight and unevolved, really hard to drink now. It has to have a year or two of cellaring (maybe more), at which point we will see where we are. In the meanwhile, let's start here. I won't be surprised if this becomes the best of the group when they all have settled down. There were 3,000 bottles produced from 25-year-old vines.
