Deep garnet in color, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Ashmead has a classic crème de cassis nose with an earthy/meaty undercurrent, cloves, sandalwood and cedar. Medium-bodied, the palate is framed by elegant tannins and is showing evolution but remains very lively through the long finish.

Good hue, though not entirely bright; a powerful and focused cabernet with blackcurrant, redcurrant, black olive and a hint of earth all in play on the bouquet and medium to full-bodied palate; cedary oak comes into play on the palate, joining with tannins on the finish to provide ample texture and structure.
