Wine Enthusiast:

"A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, this shows a dark, masculine personality, and it offers bitter chocolate, dark cherry, blackberry, rum cake, leather and black licorice notes. Dark fruit on the palate is backed by well-structured tannins, which suggest impressive longevity. -M.L." (04/13)

Antonio Galloni - Vinous:

"Chocolate, raspberry jam, cloves, licorice and sweet French oak emerge from the 2009 Arnione, a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Petit Verdot blend. In keeping with the style of the year, the 2009 is ripe, racy and exuberant, all of which suggest the Arnione is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. There is plenty of Bolgheri personality in this flavorful, fleshy red. 2014 - 2021" (08/13)

Product Description:

Wine:
"Arnione is the Italian word for a kidney-shaped lump of alabaster, the heart of top-quality, valuable gypsum. It alludes to the art of carving alabaster, for which this part of Tuscany is renowned." - Winery

Vineyard:
"The vineyard was conceived according to two cardinal principles: maximum grape quality and maximum mechanisation during growing. Campo alla Sughera has thus created a highly specialised vineyard which covers an area of about 20 hectares. The plots making up the vineyard are all located inside the Bolgheri DOC area, bordered by the Fosso di Bolgheri waterway, which runs alongside the estate itself. This is a terroir which is perfectly suited for the production of top quality wines, both red and white. The micro-climate benefits from sea breezes from the coast, which is just a few kilometres away." - Winery

This was also rated 89 points by the Wine Spectator.
