About

Product Description:

"The 2012 Brauneberger is the second vintage of this Ortswein, or village wine. Stefan says that it’s been a great success. The Riesling grapes come from the original slate slope of Brauneberger Mandelgraben, which is located behind the village. Their old vines are between 40 and 50 years old. The wine was raised in stainless steel. It's a very good wine." -LarsCarlberg.com, article on Gunther Steinmetz

"In the heart of the Middle Mosel lies the picturesque wine village of Brauneberg, surrounded by some of the best vineyard sites in Germany. In this traditional domaine, knowledge about winegrowing and winemaking has been passed down and improved upon from one generation to the next. Noble red and white wines age in the vaulted cellar, which was built in 1563. Since 1999, Stefan Steinmetz (the younger of two sons) has taken over the main responsibility of winegrowing and winemaking. He continues on in the traditional manner, but considers and reviews newer methods, too." -Importer
