Mark Squires - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2013 Verdelho V is an un-oaked bottling I’ve come to like a lot. It was sourced from 10-year-old vines and comes in this year at 13.5% alcohol. It was bottled in January, 2014. Consistent, solid, and another nice bargain, it is a fresh and lively wine with lovely aromatics and a gentle feel. This is fragrant and fun, a hint of summer beckoning. It is not overly concentrated, but it more than holds its own for the price. I’ve had more hints of green in some other years, I rather liked it that way, but this is controlled, while retaining some perky nuances. The winery recommends drinking it about 4 years from vintage date. You can, but personally I think that’s a mistake. As I like to say, however long it holds in theory, what it does best will be on display most often when it is at its youngest and freshest. Drink now-2017."
