"Ben Glaetzer has long been celebrated among the cult, young ‘rockstar’ set of the Barossa wine fraternity, but in recent years his wines have adopted a more relaxed demeanour in which fruit expression is prized above ripeness, alcohol and oak. This is particularly pertinent in toning the warm Ebenezer sub-region of northern Barossa, where Glaetzer sources Bishop from 35- and 125-year-old vines. Extended maceration keeps the wine soft and approachable, while French oak ensures the wood influence is subtle, giving full voice to the outstanding 2012 vintage. Brett Crittenden Could be in the Rhône with lovely oak and serious fruit hints of pepper and leathery richness. Such beautiful integration of all the components make this a real superstar – long and complex. Pierre Mansour Superb, Shiraz peppery aroma, intense yet focused. Multi-layered, overt, dense black fruit typical of top Barossa Shiraz. Generous fruit and depth of flavour; tannins grainy and ripe. This wine has real appeal. Anthony Rose Very nice sweet aromatics, lovely juicy, sweet blackcurrant fruit richness. Beautiful balance of seamless, dark mulberry and loganberry fruit quality with a hint of pepper. Fruity and stylish."

"Deep crimson-purple; a scaled down version of Amon-Ra, elegance substituted for the flamboyant concentration of Amon-Ra, but the flavour spectrum very similar, the only difference a pleasing savoury note on the finish of this wine."

"The deep garnet-purple colored and100% Shiraz 2012 Bishop presents a nose of warm blackcurrants, black plums and wild blueberries with touches of licorice, tar and game. Its full-bodied frame has plenty of juicy black berry flavors held in place by medium levels of grainy tannins, crisp acid and a finish with good persistence. Drink it now to 2020. "
