John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"I cannot tell if I am just paying more attention to the fine Pommards in the Jadot lineup these days, or if they have really taken a step up in terms of refinement in the last several vintages, but I have really liked what I have tasted of late and the 2011 Clos de la Commaraine is no exception! The deep and very classy nose wafts from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, woodsmoke, game, coffee, really striking soil tones, herbs and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nascently complex, with a rock solid core of fruit, ripe tannins and a very long, youthful and nicely balanced finish. High class juice in the making here! 2020-2060."
