John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"The Jadot parcel of vines in Beaune “Grèves” are right up at the top of the slope in the finest section and the 2011 has turned out splendid. The pure and elegant nose delivers a beautiful blend of red plums, red and black cherries, cocoa, fresh thyme, woodsmoke, complex soil tones and a stylish framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off gorgeous mid-palate depth, with a fine core of fruit, suave tannins and outstanding focus and grip on the poised, long and very well-balanced finish. This will be a very velvety example of Beaune at its apogee and should age a very long time on its exquisite balance. 2020- 2050."
