Deep ruby color. Aromas of roasted nuts, spicy berry pie, mocha, and a hint of bacon with a silky, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a long, tangy finish with notes of vanilla, pickling spices, and poached peaches and apples. Great purity and style. (tasted on Sep-16-2013)

Product Description:

From a small crop vintage year this is an exceptional Merlot, especially with the addition of the very complimentary Cabernet Franc. Blending Merlot and Cabernet Franc is an age-old tradition on the Right Bank in Bordeaux; St. Emilion comes to mind. This wine has more body and flavor than Merlot usually displays, especially at the Euro-level of alcohol under 14%, with the trademark smoothness and soft tannins that has made Merlot a favorite for at least the past two decades. There is plenty of ripe, black cherry, hints of tanned leather and a lively helping of blueberry from the Cabernet Franc. An excellent choice for red meats and aged cheeses over the next 3-5 years.-Winery
