Rating:

"A rich, dense style for Volnay, boasting pure cherry, floral, earth and mineral aromas and flavors. Rigid despite the forthcoming fruit, with the structure emerging on the finish. Best from 2015 through 2025. 100 cases made." (2013)

Product Description:

Wine:
"It has a dark ruby colour. Concentrated on the nose, it develops powerful and elegant notes of red fruits enhanced by toasted nuances. It is well structured and concentrated with ripe silky tannins that give lots of elegance to the wine. Long and nice finish." - Winery

Winemaking & Maturation:
"Hand-picked, the grapes have been sorted out before being vatted during 16 days. After fermentation, the wine has been matured in oak cask for 14 months." - Winery

Terroir:
"Clay and limestone on the foothill of the village, south of Cote de Beaune, facing East, near the premiers cru area. Vines are over 40 years old." - Winery

Aging:
"At its best after 4-6 years and beyond 10 years in great vintages." - Winery

Pairing Suggestions:
"To match with a Bourguignon beef, a terrine or Citeaux cheese." - Winery

Winery:
"Initially located in Savigny-les-Beaune, new plots have been added to the domain in the villages of Beaune and Puligny-Montrachet since 2007 and more recently in Pommard, Meursault and Vosne-Romanee. More than 8 hectares of vineyard are now directly grown by us."

"Through the certification process, these are grown organically with no use of chemicals. The soil is ploughed in order to strengthen the roots. The date of harvest is decided when each plot has reached its full ripeness. Each plot is hand harvested." - Winery
