Neal Martin - Wine Journal:

"Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois 2009 tasting in London. The Villambis 2009 has a tightly coiled cedary, tertiary bouquet with touches of tobacco developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded, ripe entry, good cohesion, very good delineation with a plush, generous finish of redcurrant, raspberry and cedar. Very fine. Tasted September 2011." (11/11)

Product Description:

Producer:
"Located in the municipality of Cissac the heart of the Medoc, Pauillac 10 km and 50 km from Bordeaux, the Chateau de Villambis shape with its vineyards and horticultural part a beautiful property of 40 hectares. The establishment of viticultural area and back to the eighteenth century. Considered at all times as a Cru Bourgeois, it was confirmed as such in the classification established in 1932 by brokers and wine by the 2003 ranking. There are thirty years ADAPEI Gironde (Departmental Association of Parents and Friends of Children Misfits Gironde) "The White Butterflies" are creating a Help Center for Labor. Gradually replanted the vineyard, now covers an area of 18 hectares in one piece." - Winery

Our Soil:
"The soil is composed of Pyrenean gravel and sand, the basement fractured limestone and clay. These natural factors help develop balanced wines of great finesse." - Winery

Vinification:
"Winemaking methods have been used in most of the major Bordeaux chateaux: manual and mechanical harvesting with severe triage, full stemming, fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks equipped with heat exchangers. The wine is 100% in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months, 1/3 new barrels every year." - Winery

This wine was also rated 87 Points by the Wine Spectator.
