"The 2008 Colet-Navazos Extra Brut Reserva is based upon 60% Chardonnay (60%) and the rest Macabeu and Xarel.lo with around 42 months lees aging (disgorged September 2012). It offers an inviting, generous bouquet of almond, dried honey and a subtle yeasty note in the background. The palate is crisp and light on the entry – very airy and delicate with a feminine, extremely focused bone-dry, penetrating finish. It exudes great complexity and remains wonderfully focused in the glass, the flor element becoming a little more pronounced after 5 to 10 minutes in the glass. This is an entrancing, intellectual sparkling wine."

"The first contacts between Sergi Colet and the members of Equipo Navazos took place in 2003, and already in 2005 a collaboration was seriously studied with the purpose of making sparkling wines in the Sherry District. COLET-NAVAZOS RESERVA 2008 Extra Brut has undergone a long ageing period of 42 months. Bone-dry, it has virtually no residual sugar and no sulfites have been added in the disgorging. The base wine is dominated by the Chardonnay variety, and the southern contribution gives it a subtle but singular air of flor yeast. Total production: 2,700 btls."

"The initial approach was to test how far we could go with the Andalusian Sparkling project, but with time COLET-NAVAZOS realized that some of these Catalan sparklers of southern spirit (a crossbreed described as “saleroso mestizaje”, in the words of Josep Roca) were truly serious and elegant wines, so we have decided to release some of them to the market. In 2012 we have released COLET-NAVAZOS 2009 Extra Brut, and this COLET-NAVAZOS RESERVA 2008 Extra Brut, each of them bottled in one single lot with a disgorgement date printed on the back label: September 2012." -Importer
