About

Rating:

91+

"Deep ruby-red. Aromatic nose combines blackberry, cassis, licorice, violet, mint and minerals. Dense, juicy and sharply delineated, with a supple texture to its black cherry, cassis and bitter chocolate flavors. Large-scaled, harmonious, ripe wine with no rough edges. Still, I'd give this distinctly chocolatey wine a few years in the cellar to absorb some of its tongue-dusting tannins. Finishes with noteworthy persistence."

Product Description:

"Andy Beckstoffer purchased the Missouri Hooper Vineyard from the Kelham family in 1996. Due to phylloxera, the vineyard was replanted to multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and other mainly Bordeaux varieties. Missouri Hooper Vineyard origin lies in it being a part of the historic Vine Hill Ranch located north of the town of Yountville in the Oakville AVA." -Winery
