From the Critics:
- "There are two parcels of Clos Vougeot owned by the extended Mongeard family- one planted in 1968 and one planted in 1962, so these are now nice old vines. One parcel lies just alongside the Château de Clos Vougeot, while the other is further south in the vineyard, lying just below the border with Grands Echézeaux, so both parcels are up on the slope of the Clos. The wine is aged in one hundred percent new oak and the 2010 should prove to be an excellent example of the vintage, offering up a deep and complex nose of plummy fruit, black cherries, gamebirds, raw cocoa, a very complex base of soil and generous dollop of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and ripely tannic, with a very velvety attack, a sappy core of fruit and great length and grip on the very transparent and classy finish. A fine, fine example. 2020-2060+." -
- "A mild herbal note adds lift to the floral and ripe red berry fruit aromas laced with earth hints that continue onto the somber, rich and voluminous flavors that possess excellent mid-palate concentration as well as very fine depth and length. There is a moderate amount of the hallmark austerity of a young Clos de Vougeot and this will require mid to long-term cellaring." -
