"The vineyards which produce this exquisite Morellino di Scansano lie only meters away from the ruins of the ancient town of Ghiaccioforte, named after one of the few Etruscan warriors who was able to withstand the imperial might of the Romans. It is said that the young Ghiaccioforte drew much of his strength for battle from ritualistic preparation of libations and festivities. The township was centered around a monolithic sun temple whose only entrance faces west toward the setting sun. In honor of its roots, Ghiaccio Forte Morellino di Scansano is an elegant blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Syrah to create a ruby red wine with an explosive fruit bouquet." - Importer
