Wine Spectator:

"With its tannins nearly absorbed and its fruit softening to macerated cherry and currant flavors, this red is beginning to hit its stride. Still compact, with lovely ripe fruit that leaves a sweet impression on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2026. 2,500 cases made. -BS" (09/12)

Wine Enthusiast:

"Cassis, cola, leather, dried ginger, dried spice, cherry and black licorice all play out on this wine's smooth, silky finish. Very nice length with a smooth, silky endnote. Ripe tannins balance crisp acidity. -M.L." (05/12)

Product Description:

Wine:
"Brunello di Montalcino matures about 4 years in oaks barrels of 30-50 hl, then it's bottled and remains in the cellar to age in the bottle for 6-12 months before being released. This great wine is characterised by a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections, an intense and rich aroma with notes of spices and berries, dense and thick rounded tannins. Well structured wine with a soft and persistent finish, its alcohol content can vary from 13,5% to 14% vol. depending from the vintage. It pairs nicely with game, Florentine style steak (Tuscan Steak), "tagliata" with mushrooms, hard cheese." - Winery

Producer:
"Established in 1997, Terre Nere estate stretches across 15 hectars - of which 10 covered by "Sangiovese grosso" vineyards - in the territory of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, near the well known Sant'Antimo Abbey, on the south-eastern flank of the hill whose top hosts the Velona Castle. Woods all around, uncontaminated air and the daily whistle of a gentle wind coming down from the Amiata make the place ideal to grow vineyards."

"Terre Nere "Brunello di Montalcino" and "Rosso di Montalcino" are the fruit of our vineyards, grown selectively according to the standards set by "Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino"." - Winery
