"A fantastic 2010 and up there with the brilliant ’03 and ’09, the 2010 Château Fortia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Baron is dense, meaty, and shows fantastic southern Rhône character. Possessing copious black cherry and currant styled fruit, saddle leather, licorice, garrigue, and pepper on the nose, this medium to full-bodied red is very traditional and focused on the palate, with a pure, balanced feel, building richness, and a chewy, structured finish. It needs 2-4 years of bottle age, and will drink well for 12-15 years."

"A superb 2010, showing ample heft to its core of crushed fig, plum and blackberry fruit, beautifully laced with espresso, bay leaf and warm stone notes, and then all carried by the racy precision of the vintage, with ample but sleek structure and a long, seamless finish. Best from 2014 through 2027. 10,000 cases made."
