Sub Region Champagne
Varietal(s) Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
library code: 70346
From the Critics:
- "Light, bright yellow-gold. Musky orchard fruits and blood orange on the intensely perfumed nose. Weighty and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sappy orange zest and redcurrant flavors and a bracing note of chalky minerality. Shows impressive energy and power on the finish, leaving behind a stony note." -
- "I tasted this wine a year ago, from an earlier disgorged example, and it showed equally fine as this current release in the market. I really like this wine’s complexity on both the nose and palate, and my only (minimal) complaint with the wine is that its bubbles are a bit on the large side. The bouquet is deep, complex and fairly leesy in its mix of baked apples, tangerine, smoke, citrus peel, warm bread and leesy overtones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied, complex and rock solid at the core, with the aforementioned larger bubbles, crisp acids and good focus and balance on the long and wide open finish. This is good juice for drinking over the remainder of the decade, and my score this year should come with the same caveat that if you value aromatic and flavor complexity over the refinement of the mousse in your Grower’s Champagne, then my score will seem a bit conservative, as there is a lot of good things going on here in the glass. 2013-2020."
