Jeb Dunnuck - The Rhone Report:

"A big step up is the 2010 Roger Sabon Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Reservee. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre that comes from 60-75 year-old vines and aged for 18 months in foudre and demi-muid, it exhibits classic southern Rhone aromatics of blackberry, kirsch liqueur, garrigue, spice-box, and big minerality on the nose. This is followed by a full-bodied, elegant, and seamless 2010 that has a balanced, harmonious feel, excellent freshness, and gorgeously polished tannin. It is no blockbuster and leans more towards elegance than sheer power, yet it gains in stature and class with time in the glass. It should be cellared for 3-5 years, and then consumed over the following 10-15 years. " (10/12)

Wine Spectator:

"This is gorgeous, with lush linzer torte, boysenberry pate de fruit and plum sauce notes that captivate, while anise, Lapsang souchong tea and singed apple wood notes fill in the background. The long finish is fleshy and driven. Best from 2016 through 2030. From France.- J.M." (2013)

Robert Parker:

"The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reserve reveals a boatload of roasted Provencal herbs intermixed with lavender, licorice, cassis, kirsch, cedar, underbrush and pepper. In addition to great fruit, it possesses fabulous concentration, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a sensational, 40-second finish. It should drink well for 12-15+ years." (10/12)

Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media:

"Dark purple. Expressive aromas of dark fruits, spicecake, garrigue and licorice. Ripe and harmonious, with a smoky quality and a medicinal touch to its plum and bitter cherry flavors. On the wild side but shows very good sweetness. Finishes with building tannins and firm grip, leaving a spicy note behind." (02/13)

Product Description:

Wine:
"Grenache is predominant. It is blended with Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. It is a very virile wine, typical of its terroir, strongly influenced by the Mistral and the sun. A wine that will bring the traditional robustness and warmheartedness of Provence to your table." - Winery

Vinfication & Maturation:
"There is rigorous selection of the grapes during the vendage. Vinifaction lasts for three weeks, with the temperature of fermentation around 30 to 32 degrees C . 70 per cent of the wine matures in big barrels of 40 hectolitres and 30 percent in oak casks of 600 litres. Maturation takes some 16 to 18 months." - Winery
