"The estate was originally built in 1380 as the wine estate of the Carthusian Monastery in Aggsbach, hence the name. The Stierschneider family acquired the Kartauserhof in 1862. In the three generations since, the estate has expanded to include 7 hectares of top vineyard sites, primarily on rock terraces with a southern exposure, with inclines as steep as 60%. 42% of the vineyards are planted to Riesling, followed by Gruner Veltliner at 38% and red varietals at 10%. Look for Gruner Veltliner Estate, Gruner Veltliner Smaragd Achleiten, Riesling Federspiel Steinriegl and Zweigelt in our portfolio." -Importer
