"A more traditional style, with a tarry note running through flavors of spiced cherry, plum and tea leaf, all framed by well-meshed tannins and subtle acidity, resulting in a wine more powerful than the first sip suggests. Drink now through 2018. 600 cases imported. -AN" (09/11)

Product Description:

VINTAGE:
"The summer started quite early and the maturation of grapes developed already in the middle of June changing color. After that the season continued hot and with no storm till September when some rains didn't compromise at all the good harvest. The particular event of this year is the low level of PH, it will determinate a great maturation for the red wines in longer time." -Winery

WINEMAKING:
"Maceration and fermentation on the skin for 12-15 days on a 20-26 degree C temperature. Periodic pumping over, malolactic fermentation, transfer into 225 liters to 500 litrers barrels of various origins and essence." -Winery

WINERY:
"Hugh Johnson writes about Recioto di Musella in the 1969 edition of 'The World Atlas of Wine'. With a great history behind us, we are continuing this wonderful work in a rural court of the sixteenth century, surrounded by green meadows crossed by the river Fibbio, which originally hosted the stables of the aristocratic Villa."

"Accomplished in the greatest respect of tradition, the building has been transformed into the precious setting for our botti and the cellar, equipped with all the latest technologies. The large hayloft above the ancient stables has been reserved for the drying of the grapes used to produce our Amarone. This process takes place thanks to a carefully calculated natural ventilation, which guarantees the healthy conservation of the grapes." -Winery
