"Syrah from an old vineyard from 'las Retamas' ranch ( altitude 5249 ft) certified organic by the OIA organization. Harvested by hand in boxes and then fermented for 8 days at 27 to 28 degrees and 2 more days at 29 to 20. racked but not filtered. Deep violet colors. About the winery
Owners – Pedro Vicien and Carlos Arizu
Vicien is a partnership between Pedro and Carlos in the Fiambala valley. It was undertaken with a mixture of new plantings and old. Scrubby plots into which the y have breathed new life. The winery uses only certified organic grapes, farms some of its plots biodynamically and hopes to go completely biodynamic by 2017.
The wines reflect the high deserts strong sun and low water levels to produce powerful and concentrated wines that are native to the Catamarca region.
