"This is lush, bordering on viscous, exhibiting honey, apple tart and butterscotch flavors. Balanced in an oversized way, with plenty of flesh and a long, spicy aftertaste. For fans of the style. Drink now through 2018. 70 cases made."

"Niellon’s 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumees wraps around the palate with nectarines, flowers, spices and mint. It shows the richness and viscosity of the vintage, but with brighter, more floral shades of fruit that avoid heaviness. Like all the Niellon wines in 2010, the Chaumees is medium in body, but it nevertheless possesses fine intensity and balance. A hint of sweet spices lingers on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012+."

"from leased vines that Niellon has exploited since 1988 and he believes that they were planted in 1939). Here too there is a touch of reduction but it’s not sufficient to completely suppress the otherwise ripe and fresh yellow and white orchard fruit, citrus and dried flower aromas. There is a plush quality to the rich and generous flavors that possess a suave mouth feel as well as a delicious, dry and energetic finish where the depth, while certainly good, can’t rival that of the best of these 1ers."
