Stylistically the wines from Ente, have very similar traits often from in Etienne Sauzet's(another well-known high-end producer of Pulingy and Chassagne-Montrachet wines. Truely beholdent to terrior and confident and balanced, the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru, "Les Refrerts" demonstraits Ente's skills. The wine has an opulent, plump, medium-bodied wine. Anise, pears, and minerals can be found in this deep, sexy offering's character.

Benois Ente trained at Coche Dury along with his brother, Arnaud. When their father died, Arnaud got the Meursault holdings and Benois got the Puligny holdings; his first vintage of production was 1999. He produces wine in his garage - he is literally a 'garagiste,' with about 20 barrels and two little blond daughters constantly in action. He has 9.25 acres (3.75 hectares) of land from which he produces about 1400 cases of wine annually. He makes Aligote, Bourgogne Blanc, and Puligny from the Premier Cru vineyards of Champs Gain, Folatieres and Referts. He practices sustainable agriculture, green harvests, and picks as late as possible. In the winery he ferments in barrel, 10-20% of which are new, depending on the vintage and appellation.
