From the Critics:
- "The Roblet-Monnot 2006 Volnay Brouillards – one third of whose fruit went into the fermentor intact, with stems – had not been bottled yet when I last tasted it. It is certainly a seriously mineral, carnal wine, chalk and roasted meats vying for attention even in the nose with the wine's concentration of blackberries. Resinous, sappy, faintly caramel-tinged and oily – with horehound and bitter sweet herbal concentration rising on the palate – it adds invigorating bitter-sweet grapefruit rind, tart berry skin, and salt in a tenacious and reverberating finish. There is just enough juicy freshness and fluidity of fruit here as well as enough vivacity to keep this darkly concentrated, firmly tannic, and aggressively clinging wine from becoming overbearing. This is how I imagine it might have been to drink a young 1969. I suspect it will be worth following for 7-10 years and is probably best left untouched for a couple of years." -
