From the Critics:
- "The Pommard “Vaumuriens” is a relatively new cuvée from Jean-François Coche, which I believe was first made in the 2003 vintage. This was the first vintage where I have been offered it to taste in the cellars, and not surprisingly, the 2006 will be a lovely wine. The nose jumps from the glass in a brilliant mélange of red cherries and berries, orange zest, lovely minerality, roses, coffee, a hint of the gamebirds to come, fresh herbs and a judicious touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, very pure and beautifully focused, with a sappy core of red fruit, ripe tannins, tangy acids and beautiful delineation from the attack to the tail end of the long, sappy and pure finish. This may only be villages, but in the hands of Monsieur Coche and his son, the wine is clearly of top premier cru quality. Lovely juice in the making. 2012-2035+." -
