Product Description:
Wine:
"The name of the cuvee comes from a centuries-old farmhouse situated in one of the most lovely areas of Provence. This old mas (as old stone farmhouses are often referred to in Provence) seemed to be the essence of this sun-dappled region, with its terrace overlooking an olive grove and rows and rows of Grenache. On late fall evenings, just as the season is becoming chilly enough to warrant a light sweater, there is not much that beats sitting on such a terrace with a glass of spicy Cotes du Luberon, some local tapenade, and a good friend. Le Paradou is the perfect wine for the job." -Importer
Winery:
"Le Paradou is a young project created in conjunction with Frederic Chaudiere whose family produces some of the most respected wines in the Southern Rhone AOC of Cotes du Ventoux. Sourced from two properties whose raw material is quite unique, the wines carry the name of the centuries-old farmhouse, Le Paradou, belonging to Frederic's family." - Importer
Vineyards:
"The vines, ranging in age between 40 and 60 years old, are cultivated in accordance with the laws of Terra Vitis, an organization that ensures that properties respect the environment in which the vines are grown and stresses the benefits of integrated farming."
The vineyard sites are all at high altitudes in the mountains of the Luberon and as such, produce wines with good acidity and bright fruit as opposed to the more dense and rich bottlings coming from the valley floor." - Importer
Winemaking:
"The bottlings are created exclusively from estate-grown fruit and see no wood before bottling to ensure that the vibrancy of the fruit of this area shines through. After a pre-crush triage, the wine ferments and rests in tank until April/May of the following year." -Importer
