2007 kosuge pinot noir manchester ridge
"Vivid ruby. Dark berries, cherry-cola, smoke and violet on the nose, with an anise note coming up with air; takes a little time to unwind. Sweet blackberry and bitter cherry flavors are given grip and a slightly rigid edge by dusty tannins but the fruit plows through on the back half. Finishes sweet and juicy, with good nervy cut. This promising wine, from a site that Kosuge says always ripens late, needs some age, or at least some air."
