"A dollop of new wood does not really get in the way of the ripe and spicy aromas of red berry fruit and violet hints that marry into supple, round and admirably pure tautly muscled flavors that possess a bit more flesh than the Clos de Vougeot but the finish exhibits the same tanginess that makes me cautious."
"This is a very substantial wine, and has put on a lot of weight and richness. Given what competing brands are going to be pricing their 08 Grands Echezeauxs' for, this is going to be exceptional. I would be shocked if Meadows did not rate this above his barrel tasting score." -Ian Dorin, Wine Director for the Wine Library
