"(just one barrel made in 2003) Deep ruby-red. Black raspberry, cassis and bitter chocolate aromas lifted by a floral quality. Dense, sweet and impressively concentrated; this really spreads out to saturate the palate. Finishes long and spicy, with strong, chewy tannins that avoid dryness. Lachaux may keep a bit of this for his PMG (pour ma gueule, or "for my mouth") room."
Noticeable wood spice frames very ripe, expressive and serious black fruit aromas that precede spicy, sweet and beautifully textured middle weight flavors that offer plenty of character. The mouth feel here is interesting as the underlying structure is quite fine for such a concentrated wine. Lovely stuff and this could surprise to the upside. 88-90 BH
