About

Product Description:

"This is exceptional Albarino. This has just enough fat to match up to the beautifully crisp, vibrant and fresh finish. The fruit flavors are soft and complex, with notes of peach, pear, apple and mango. Notes of flowers, minerals and sea salt cap off the wonderfully dynamic and well made wine. This is definitely a case buy!"

D.O. RIAS BIAS:
"The leading DO wine zone in Galicia, northwest Spain, producing some of the country's most sought after dry white wines. Named after the flooded coastal valleys, or rĂas...the zibe's reputation is based on the Albarino grape, which has been accorded cult status in Spain. Wines were exported to northern Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries but, after the ravages of phylloxera, many of the traditional vine varieties were abandoned and by the 1900s the region's vineyards were largely planted with high yielding hybrids..."

"The revival begin in the late 1970s, when growers were encouraged to replant native vine varieties and producers were given incentives to invest in modern winemaking equipment...Twelve different vine varieties are officially permitted in Rias Bias although Albarino accounts for 90 percent of the vineyard area." -Jancis Robinson, The Oxford Companion to Wine

VARIETAL:
"The distinctive, aromatic, high-quality vine grown in Galicia. The grapes' thick skins help them withstand the particularly damp climate, and can result in white wines notably high in alcohol, acidity, and flavor."-Jancis Robinson, The Oxford Companion to Wine
