"The 2005 Carmignano Riserva Elzana is mostly Sangiovese with a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine spent a year in medium-size French oak barrels followed by a year in large Slavonian oak. This is a remarkably harmonious, vibrant wine bursting with class and sheer pedigree. The round, textured style covers every corner of the palate with gorgeous depth and purity.
