"I am accustomed to the Corton chez Méo being a bit wild and extravagant when the it is in its youth, but the 2006 shows a refinement and an elegance that is emblematic of the vintage, but which is rather rare for this often quite powerful wine. The bouquet is deep and very classy, as it offers up notes of black raspberries, black cherries, game, beautiful minerality, espresso and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full- bodied, racy and quite suave for young Corton, with excellent acids, ripe, substantial tannins and a beautiful, long and minerally finish. One of the finest young Méo Cortons that I have had the pleasure to taste. 2016-2050."
Allen Meadows - Burghound:
"A very ripe, pure and expressive nose of spicy red and black fruit aromas nuanced by hints of game, smoke, tea, leather and lovely violet notes framed in moderate wood combines with sappy, dense and naturally sweet full-bodied flavors that possess a really seductively suave texture and a supple but precise finish that is both profound and hugely long. This is a knockout where the only nit is a trace of finishing warmth but otherwise, I was extremely impressed as this is stylish and utterly classy."
"Deep, dark red. Reserved nose offers medicinal black cherry and minerals. Powerful, tactile and penetrating, with sappy black cherry, menthol and mineral flavors that really saturate the palate. Finishes long and gripping, with building ripe tannins. Strong and serious wine. These top 2006s call for seven or eight years of patience." -92 Points - Stephen Tanzer - International Wine Cellar
