2006 - Jacques Prieur Clos Vougeot
Sub Region Clos Vougeot
Varietal(s) Pinot Noir
library code: 42384
From the Critics:
- "Good full ruby-red. Black cherry, cassis, minerals and mint on the pure, floral nose. Juicy, pristine and sharply focused, with a distinctly primary character to the black fruit and mineral flavors. A solidly structured, rich wine that finishes with substantial, broad, fine-grained tannins and excellent cut and mounting persistence. These grapes were 100% destemmed but not crushed; in 2005, half of the Clos Vougeot was vinified with whole clusters." 91-93 Points - Stephen Tanzer
"A completely different aromatic profile is presented as here the nose is much more earth dominated with a mix of red, black and violet notes that sit atop rich, full and notably serious medium full flavors that offer excellent volume and here too a bit of wood surfaces on the youthfully austere finish. The mouth feel is quite firm yet the tannins are relatively fine. Excellent quality." 90-93 Points - Allen Meadows (Burghound) -
