About

Product Description:

"The Schild Estate 2005 Barossa GMS is made from fruit sourced from dry grown bush vine Grenache, Mataro (Mourvedre) and Shiraz with an average age of 70 years, The GMS shows classic stylistic notes typical of the generosity of flavours that are purely Barossa. Harvested in late March and early April at optimum ripeness the fruit was taken to the winery and open fermented then pressed and sent to old French and American oak for 5 months. From this short time in oak there are hints of subtle spice and coconut creating added complexity. Bottled in October, 2005 with minimal filtering this wine will be suited to keep for a number of years or enjoyed young. Colour: Dark red to purple. Nose: Aromatic with lifted spice, subtle coconut and savoury notes. Palate: Juicy soft berry & plum fruit & a hint of savoury oak, seamlessly combine with silky fine tannins, and a lingering Moorish finish." -Winery
