David Schildknecht - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"Weber's 2005 Niedermenninger Herrenberg Riesling Spatlese (only marginally higher in residual sugar than a relatively austere and, on the occasion of my visit, constricted Herrenberg Spatlese trocken from the rockiest portion of the site) smells of fresh lemon, pear, and white peach, presents a rich palate full of stuffing, and deposits a fascinating load of wet stone, alkaline, mineral salt, bitter-sweet herbal, pear and pear pip flavors in its finish. While marginally less clear and pure than the Altenberg Spatlese trocken, this is certainly formidably concentrated."
