Product Description:
"Made by the old and noble varieties Grenache and Muscadelle, which grow in extreme climatic conditions in this very southern vineyard of France. The wine has been stored in the perfect conditions of the producer's cellars (SIVIR, main producer and wine-merchant of unifying several small private producers) since production - for decades in the typical oak barrels. Similar as a 'Late-Bottled-Vintage-Porto', this wine is bottled only in February/March 2006. In fact, the producer kept this vintage because of it's outstanding freshness and power; it therefor was a perfect wine for filling up the barrels of other old vintages (to replace the lost of the wine passing naturally through the wood, we call in French 'la part des anges', the share of angels). Oxidation has been severely avoided, a sensational freshness astounds the taster:
Colour : tile-red color with hints of brown and orangy. Aromas : cooked, baked fruits, quince, prune, spices and caramel. In mouth: coffee, cacao, tobacco, and crystallized fruit (dry figs, prune, strawberry, walnuts, quince)." -Importer
